Neon has appointed Vanessa Young to the role of underwriter and solicitor – M&A insurance, reporting to the head of M&A liability insurance Rob Brown.
Young joins Neon from her previous role as legal director at Bird & Bird.
She brings extensive UK and international M&A experience with considerable expertise in the renewable energy sector and advising infrastructure funds, private equity and other institutional investors.
Young’s hire is part of Neon’s broader ambition to consolidate its position, helping to address the growing demand for M&A insurance as a result of increased utilisation by financial and corporate clients during transactions.
Young will play a key role in supporting the expansion of Neon's market M&A team.
Her experience will enable Neon to offer clients specialist M&A insurance solutions in the renewable energy, tech and funds sector amongst other strategic trade sectors.

Young’s appointment follows the appointment last month of former Dentons partner Andrew Thornton, and the hire of Neon's specialist M&A team in 2015.
