The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has signed a definitive agreement to sell Greenphire, a specialist in financial lifecycle management software for clinical trials, to Thoma Bravo, a software focused private equity firm.  The pending transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of this year, subject to the satisfaction of regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Pathway has closed on a USD400 million customised fund of funds (FOF) for an Asia-based institutional investor.  The fund will seek to build a diversified portfolio of primary fund investments and co-investments in both the small and middle markets globally. The fund represents a continuation of Pathway’s successful 30-year history of investing in private markets, which totals more than USD95 billion in commitments. Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust (DORE) has signed an exclusivity agreement with AB Edsbyns Elverk (EE), a local Swedish multi-utility (EE) to buy EE’s subsidiary Elektra Nät AB (Elektra) and a portfolio of three hydropower plants.  Elektra is a local regulated electricity distribution company in Edsbyn, central Sweden. DORE has submitted an indicative bid in excess of SEK300 million (GBP25.5 million), whose confirmation is subject to final due diligence by the Company and approval by EE shareholders at its Annual General Meeting on 29 June. Deepbridge Capital, a UK venture capital investment manager, has secured a GBP15 million commitment from British Business Investments, a commercial subsidiary of the British Business Bank, to fund early-stage businesses across the UK.
