Specialist business advisory firm FRP has acquired Spectrum Corporate Finance (Spectrum) in a GBP9.4 million deal.  Founded in 2010 by Simon Davies, Clive Hatchard and Ian Milne, Spectrum is the largest independent corporate finance and debt advisory firm in the South of England. It provides strategic support and advice for owner-managed businesses and their funders across the UK mid-market from its offices in Reading and London, with particular focus on the central South, South East and London markets.     In 2020, Spectrum’s corporate finance team advised on 25 completed transactions with a combined deal value of more than GBP900
CORE Industrial Partners (CORE), a Chicago-based private equity firm, today announced the successful final and only close of CORE Industrial Partners Fund II (Fund II) with total commitments of USD465 million.  Fund II was significantly oversubscribed with demand in excess of both the initial target of USD400 million and hard cap of USD450 million. CORE now manages approximately USD700 million of capital commitments. CORE Industrial Partners Fund II will continue its sector focus in acquiring manufacturing, industrial technology, and industrial service businesses that it believes can benefit from CORE’s deep investment and operating experience coupled with a well-defined operating playbook.
Baseload Capital, a Swedish company specialised in funding the deployment of heat power worldwide, has closed a USD25 million funding round with Chevron Technology Ventures as a new strategic investor.  As an initial outcome of the alliance, Chevron Technical Center and Baseload Capital have already signed a letter of intent to investigate a potential pilot project in California. “In August, we announced that we were looking for a new strategic investor to help us accelerate deployment in our key markets,” says Baseload Capital CEO Alexander Helling. “We couldn’t have asked for a better one.
