Finch Capital has held the first close of its EUR150 million fund, Europe III, which will invest in European technology companies that shape the future of finance by using technology such as artificial intelligence.
Europe III saw a near 90 per cent follow on investment from previous funds. Since its inception in 2013, the firm has made a total of 40 investments across Europe and Asia and its assets now total USD400 million.

Additive manufactured mountain bike company Atherton Bikes has raised GBP385,000 through Angel Investment Network.
The Welsh business is the brainchild of world-famous mountain biker siblings Gee Atherton, Dan Atherton and Rachel Atherton who have partnered with a team of engineers from F1, aerospace and NASA to produce a world-beating mountain-bike. The business is chaired by entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den investor Piers Linney.

Groupama Axiom Legacy 21 has reached EUR506 million in assets under management, less than three years after the fund’s launch in 2018.
The fund focuses on the subordinated “legacy” debt universe, a sector of financial instruments that is constantly being influenced by regulatory changes across the Eurozone. Currently, the majority of the fund’s holdings are reaching maturity, meaning that they will no longer be eligible instruments by which financial institutions can reach their regulatory capital requirements, a feature of the transition from Basel II to Basel III.

Orion Innovation (Orion), a digital transformation and product development services firm, is to acquire Tellence Technologies (Tellence), a privately-held technology services company headquartered in Bucharest, Romania.
With this acquisition, Orion is strengthening its European presence by establishing an R&D operation in Romania, with associates across Bucharest and other major cities, as well as Tel Aviv, Israel. The Bucharest site will host 300-plus engineers, primarily focusing on Digital Product Development Services for several global clients. The Romanian operation is expected to continue its rapid expansion, growing to over 1,000 engineers in the coming years.

TA Associates, a global growth private equity firm, has entered exclusive negotiations to make a majority growth investment in DL Software, a France-based group of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software providers.
Current DL Software majority shareholder 21 Invest France, as well as company founders and management, would each retain a stake in the business following TA’s investment. The envisaged transaction, which is currently under review by representatives of the company’s employees, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021, subject to customary approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
