Moonfare, a European private equity and alternatives investment platform, has launched a top-tier US tech fund offering where individual investors and wealth managers can invest money into these funds for the first time.Moonfare has enabled its users access to another US tech fund after it was able to close Insight Partners’ Growth Equity fund within a week. Expanding PE house YFM Equity Partners (YFM) has appointed Roshan Puri as an investment director. Puri joins YFM from Calculus Capital where he invested in companies across the software, business services and consumer sectors. He also sat on various boards helping investee companies deliver their growth plans and realise value. Puri’s previous investments include the workforce optimisation software business ActiveOps, digital asset management software company IPV and marketing agency Once Upon a Time.
In his new role with YFM, Puri will focus on investing in growth capital and buyout opportunities across London and the South East of England.

LGB Corporate Finance has arranged a GBP20 million Medium Term Note (MTN) programme for Simply Asset Finance, a private equity backed specialist asset finance provider. The facility will enable Simply Asset Finance to expand its lending capabilities.
Simply Asset Finance offers finance products as a secured lender to SMEs to fund the purchase of business-critical equipment and to free up working capital. It is a portfolio company of Cabot Square Capital, a private equity investor in UK specialist lending businesses.

Callan, an institutional investment consulting firm, has appointed Andrew Maday, CFA, CAIA, as a senior vice president in its Private Equity Consulting group. Maday will focus on private equity research, including manager and fund sourcing and due diligence, strategic planning and portfolio modelling, and servicing clients. He is based in the Chicago office and reports to Pete Keliuotis, executive vice president and head of alternatives consulting.

More than half of PE firms (52 per cent) are open to hiring people via video calls, according to an April survey by PE and venture capital recruitment firm PER.
According to Rupert Bell, director of Dach at PER, there’s still a lot of interview activity going on in the industry, as everyone becomes accustomed to video conferencing replacing face-to-face meetings.
“Moreover, there seems to be a decline in firms putting processes on hold. Firms seem to have mainly paused hiring in the first weeks of the crisis,” Bell commented on the result of the survey.

Glennmont Partners, a fund manager focused exclusively on investing in clean energy infrastructure, has agreed to the sale of a 15 per cent minority stake in Project Piiparinmäki, a 211.4mw wind farm, to Kansai Electric Power Company.
The onshore wind farm, located in central Finland, is currently under construction with COD expected in late 2021. Once operational, Piiparinmäki will be the largest wind farm in Finland, a significant wind power asset in the Nord Pool area, and one of the largest unsubsidised wind farms in Europe.
The sale of the stake in Piiparinmäki marks the first divestment from Glennmont’s EUR850
