ChartCo, a UK-based supplier of digital navigation and voyage compliance services backed by Equistone Partners Europe, has merged with the Canadian navigation solutions provider Marine Press, backed by Champlain Financial Corporation. The move will result in the creation of a new global company called OneOcean, which will provide navigation and compliance solutions to the commercial marine industry.   Equistone invested in ChartCo in June 2016 through Equistone Partners Europe Fund V. Inflexion Private Equity is to acquire the assets of Goals Soccer Centres (Goals), a UK operator of small-sided football pitches. The investment is being made by Inflexion Enterprise Fund IV, Inflexion’s dedicated lower mid‐market fund. Founded in 1987, Goals provides five-a-side and seven-a-side flood-lit arenas with synthetic grass turf, allowing for year-round play. With facilities for changing and socialising, the centres offer coaching, holiday camps and parties for customers in addition to the arena hire. Newcastle upon Tyne-based private investment firm Middleton Enterprises has appointed David Alprovich as Chief Operating Officer. Alprovich, who graduated from Northumbria University with a First in Finance & Investment Management, joined Middleton Enterprises from Brewin Dolphin as commercial assistant. He rose through the ranks to his new role as the business expanded.   Middleton Enterprises is a GBP100million investment firm which makes investments throughout the UK, with a focus on the North East from its office on the Quayside in Newcastle. Its portfolio comprises of listed companies, private equity and venture capital investments including One Utility Bill, Refract and Atom Bank.
An affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners (One Rock), has completed the previously announced acquisition of the Engineered Components & Systems (EC&S) segment from Enerpac Tool Group, previously known as Actuant Corporation. EC&S will now be known as CentroMotion, and will continue to be led by Roger Roundhouse, who has been named CEO.   Headquartered in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, CentroMotion is a global company serving the agriculture, specialty and commercial vehicle, construction and other industrial end-markets with motion, actuation and control solutions. Scout Clean Energy (Scout), a Colorado based renewable energy developer, owner and operator has completed construction and received tax equity funds for the 300MW Ranchero Wind Farm located in Crockett County, Texas (Ranchero). Scout is a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners.   “Ranchero is our first greenfield project developed from inception through construction and operations since our launch as an owner-operator,” says Michael Rucker, CEO and founder of Scout Clean Energy. “Reaching commercial operations at Ranchero brings Scout’s owned portfolio of wind energy generation in operation and under construction to over 800 MW.”   Scout started of construction on
Sherpa Capital, a private equity fund manager focused on mid-sized companies with EUR250 million under management, has has invested in Portuguese company Ferreira de Sá, a producer of tailor-made carpets for the luxury furniture and décor sector. Willkie Farr & Gallagher has appointed debt finance partner Ashley Young in London. Young will join Willkie’s Finance Practice Group on 25 November, 2019 and will be the firm’s fourth lateral hire in London this year. He was previously a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Intertrust, a provider of tech-enabled corporate and fund solutions to clients operating and investing in the international business environment, has completed the acquisition of ABN AMRO’s Escrow & Settlement business. The acquisition was announced on 7 February 2019. Through the acquisition, Intertrust is now the number one provider of escrow, settlement and paying agency services in Europe, with a market leading position in the Netherlands, a strong commercial presence in the UK market, and a growing business in Germany. The team transferred to Intertrust in its entirety and will lead further expansion of escrow services across Intertrust’s global network.
