Aero Capital Solutions (ACS), a mid-life aircraft leasing platform, has held the successful final closing on its first aviation investment vehicle with total aggregate equity commitments of USD200 million.
Investors include a broad group of sophisticated investors, registered investment advisers, and single and multi-family offices. In addition to the USD200 million of equity, ACS closed on a USD400 million debt facility with a multinational investment bank providing a total of approximately USD600 million of capital for deployment.

Arthur J Gallagher & Co is to acquire the global aerospace operations of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT). The acquisition, subject to European Commission approval, is scheduled to close this spring in connection with the closing of the JLT purchase by Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.

Global private equity firm The Riverside Company has acquired ADA Solutions, a designer and developer of detectable warning surface and way-finding solutions for the visually impaired.
ADA is an add-on to Riverside’s SureWerx portfolio company, a leading supplier of professional safety products, tools and equipment. ADA’s products are used in many applications, including curb ramps, public transit platforms, pedestrian refuge islands and pedestrian rail crossings.

New research from Revolution.Aero amongst private equity and venture capital professionals reveals that 69 per cent expect the amount of money their industries invest in the aviation sector to increase between now and the end of 2020, and just 4 per cent expect it to fall.
The corresponding figures for the next five years are 73 per cent and 12 per cent respectively.

Swipii, the loyalty card app, has secured an investment of GBP1.9m through a funding round led by award-winning Scottish venture capital firm Par Equity.
The latest version of the app removes the need for physical loyalty cards by linking to a debit or credit card and rewarding users with points as they shop at businesses signed-up to Swipii. The app’s original iteration had 1.1m users and its 1,700 affiliated businesses saw up to a 1.5x revenue boost, but it relied on using iPads to track visits only.

Global investment firm KKR has appointed Kate Richdale as Member and Head of Strategy & Business Development in Asia Pacific.
Richdale will work with KKR’s senior leadership team in Asia to help the Firm expand its platform across business and new investment strategies. She will also work with KKR’s Asia investing businesses to assist in advancing the deal origination pipeline and to get involved at a strategic level with the Firm’s key client relationships across the region.
Richdale’s appointment builds on KKR’s significant investment in its Asia franchise. Over the past year, KKR has hired two additional Members, John Pattar and
Pandea Global M&A – an international network of advisory firms co-founded by Dow Schofield Watts – completed 110 transactions with a combined value of over EUR1.6 billion in 2018.
