The DMC Group comprises a portfolio of leading European brands in the needlecrafts space, including DMC, Wool and the Gang (WATG) and Sirdar. The portfolio also includes Tilsatec, a leading brand of high- performance technical yarn.

Beringea, a transatlantic venture capital investor has announced a GBP2.4 million investment in DeepCrawl, a web crawler and marketing insights platform.
The funding follows on from DeepCrawl’s GBP1.75 million Series A, which was also led by Beringea – other existing high net worth investors supported both rounds.

The Maples Group has appointed Hugo Lodge as a partner in its Regulatory & Compliance legal practice.
Lodge joins the Group’s Cayman Islands office from the UK Financial Conduct Authority, where he led the new team responsible for the oversight of AML supervision in the UK legal sector, prior to which he worked in the Retail Banking, Enforcement and Market Oversight division. Lodge was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 1998 and practised as a barrister at 7BR in London where he specialised in financial crime and regulation.

The latest Healthtech M&A Market Report from international technology mergers and acquisitions adviser, Hampleton Partners, has revealed a final count of almost 100 deals in the healthtech sector in the second half of 2018.
Transaction volume remained steady compared to H1 2018, inching down by a mere six per cent and thus remaining in line with a remarkably stable trend since 2013. The trailing 30-month revenue multiple rose again to 2.8x EV/S, prolonging a trend visible over the last 18 months since the increase to 2.8x in H2 2017 from a lower 2.1x EV/S in H1 2017.

Ironwood Capital has exited its investment in Tunnel Hill Partners (Tunnel Hill), which has been sold to Macquarie Group.
Tunnel Hill is the largest integrated waste-by-rail operator in the United States with five waste-by-rail transfer stations in the Northeast, two rail-served landfills in Ohio, the largest beneficial use site in Pennsylvania (also rail-served), a hauling operation with transfer stations in Connecticut and a recycling operation in Massachusetts. The company provides a variety of services including hauling, recycling, beneficial reuse, transfer and disposal to commercial and industrial customers throughout the Northeast and Ohio.

GCA Altium is opening a new office in Leeds, its 20th around the world. The firm will be based in the One Park Row office development.
