Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) is making an investment in independent insurance brokerage firm Alliant Insurance Services. The investment by the Canadian pension investment manager is joined by an additional investment from funds managed by Stone Point Capital LLC. Business lending platform Growth Street has raised a GBP7.5 million scale-up investment round led by the Merian Chrysalis Investment Company Limited (Merian Chrysalis). Israeli startup Hailo, developer of a proprietary processing architecture for deep learning on edge devices, has expanded its Series A funding round to USD21 million. Chinese venture capital firm, Glory Ventures, led the investment-round expansion and was joined by existing and other new investors. Venture capital firm Par Equity has closed five investments worth GBP4.85 million in just two days. The firm was lead investor and partnered with the Scottish Investment Bank on all five deals. The trades included one new investment and four follow-ons. VCT funding so far in January 2019 totals GBP91.3 million, up 245 per cent compared with the same time last January (GBP26.4 million), according to data released by Wealth Club. Over GBP313 million has been raised so far this tax year.
