Victory Park Capital (VPC) has appointed Connell Hasten and Joshua Platek to lead the firm’s new insurance services division.
Hasten, who joins as partner, and Platek, who has been appointed vice president, will serve as co-founders of the insurance services platform, primarily responsible for sourcing, underwriting, executing and managing investment opportunities for insurers.

Established in 2003, VOF is a Guernsey-domiciled, closed-ended investment company listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. European Buy & Build activity in the first half of 2018 fell by 12 per cent compared to the same period in 2017 with Brexit concerns dampening the normally buoyant UK and Irish markets, according to Silverfleet Capital’s European Buy & Build Monitor.
The Buy & Build Monitor, which tracks global add-on activity undertaken by European- headquartered companies backed by private equity, identified a provisional total of 287 add-ons in the first half of 2017 with a total deal value of GBP4.1 billion, down from 327 add-ons worth GBP4.8 billion recorded over the same period in 2017.

K&L Gates has appointed Liz Boydston as a partner in its restructuring and insolvency practice based in the firm’s Dallas office. She joins K&L Gates from Norton Rose Fulbright LLP.
Boydston focusses her practice on corporate and financial restructuring and insolvency, as well as complex commercial litigation matters, including bankruptcies, restructurings, domestic and cross-border insolvencies, Chapter 11 proceedings, and creditor representations. She has particular experience with bankruptcy related matters involving the health care industry.

WestBridge Capital has appointed chartered accountant James MacLeay from Kingston Smith, where he qualified before joining the firm’s corporate finance team.
During this time, MacLeay worked on many deals including the sale of Freightex to UPS; the readmission to AIM of Live Company Group plc; the investment in Axel Arigato by Vaultier7; and the acquisition of Good Eating Company by Sodexo.
