Washington DC-based private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners (Arlington) has completed the acquisition of the Government Solutions division of Black Box Corporation (BBOX).
Going forward, the business will operate independently as Tyto Athene, a full-service systems integrator and managed services provider of communications systems for Department of Defense and Civilian agency enterprise operations worldwide.
Tyto Athene will be led by the existing management team, including Jeff Murray, the current Senior Vice President of Black Box Government Solutions, as CEO. Chris Meilhammer has been appointed the Company’s COO, and Jason Alexander will continue to lead the Company’s service delivery teams
The independent pan-European investment company Argos Wityu has acquired a majority stake in German aktivoptik Group (aktivoptik), as part of a succession plan via its Fund VII.
This was announced today by both companies. With a network of 76 stores, most of them in hypermarkets and other highly frequented locations, and sales of around EUR50 million (as of 2017), the medium-sized family company is Germany’s fifth-largest optician and hearing care chain. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or other details of the transaction. The transaction is still subject to approval of the relevant antitrust authorities.

First Scottish provides fast, accurate searches and reports for solicitors, conveyancers, estate agents, financial institutions and local authorities.
The company has been acquired by a significant international private investment group with multinational interests across a variety of sectors, and specialism in health care, technology, insurance and financial services. F&C Private Equity Trust has released its interim results up to 30 June 2018 showing high levels of activity in the first six months of the year.
The Net Asset Value (NAV) total return for the six-month period was 1.7 per cent. The discount to NAV per share narrowed to 3.4 per cent as at 30 June 2018, in comparison to 5.1 per cent as at 31 December 2017. The share price total return for the six-month period was 3.6 per cent.
