An affiliate of private equity investment firm HIG Capital has made an investment in VIP Cinema.
Headquartered in New Albany, MS, VIP is a designer and assembler of premium seating solutions for the global cinema industry.

Indos Financial, the UK independent depositary, has secured approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to extend its Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) depositary permissions to become a full depositary.
The move represents the first such authorisation of a non-bank entity in the UK since AIFMD was introduced in 2014.
The permissions build upon the firm's depositary-lite business servicing non-EU funds as well as its UK private equity, real estate and debt fund business. In less than three years this business has grown to comprise 70 funds across 56 managers and USD14 billion of assets.

Canadian investment manager The Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) has launched a European hub in London.
PSP Investments' growing local team will focus on high-quality, long-term investments predominantly in the private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate asset classes.
The team will combine long-term capital with financially oriented insight from the firm’s partners and management teams to form strategic industry specialised investment platforms across Europe. In the last year alone, the team has made significant acquisitions, in line with its mandate to continue to increase PSP Investments' exposure in the European market.

PineBridge Investments, a global multi-asset class asset manager, has launched the PineBridge European Secured Credit Fund, co-managed by portfolio managers Julie Bothamley and Evangeline Lim and global head of credit and fixed income Steven Oh.
The investment objective of the fund is to provide investors with income returns and capital preservation from a diversified portfolio of European sub-investment grade debt obligations issued by corporations in various industries and geographical regions.

Law firm Bond Dickinson has advised longstanding client Piper, an investor in consumer brands, on its GBP10 million investment in Flat Iron, the London-based steak restaurant.
Piper's investment will provide Flat Iron with the funding needed to bolster the team so it can continue to deliver quality and value across its four restaurants in Soho, Tottenham Court Road, Covent Garden and Shoreditch.
The deal will also support the restaurant's growth ambitions to open more units in London to meet customer demand.

Apposite Capital, a private equity firm specialising in healthcare, has made an initial investment of EUR7 million in NIMGenetics, a genetic diagnostic laboratory based in Spain.
The company is operating in a fast-growing market and generated 34 per cent in revenue growth last year.
Apposite’s investment will enable NIMGenetics to further develop its service offering as well as support its international expansion, especially in Latin America.

Morrison Street Capital’s Morrison Street Debt Opportunities Fund (MSDO) has reached its target with total equity commitments of USD200 million.
MSDO provides small-balance mezzanine capital, with investment balances generally ranging from USD2 million to USD10 million, to real estate market participants across a diversified set of property types in the top 100 MSAs nationwide.
