David Sheasby, head of governance and sustainability at Martin Currie, has been appointed to the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) ESG Engagements advisory committee. Energy Hunter Resources has closed a new GBP3 million funding round. Total private capital raised since the formation of the company last year is approximately USD7 million, all of which has been raised from a combination of insiders and certain private individual investors.   This new capital commitment will allow the company to spud its first Eagle Ford Shale horizontal well, the Gap Band No2, located in Karnes County, Texas, the most prolific oil and gas producing county in the State of Texas, sometime later this month. EBRD has invested in Turkish packaging manufacturer Korozo Ambalaj, whose product portfolio includes flexible packaging for food and other products, components for hygiene products, kitchen consumables and in-mould labels. The EBRD, Actera – a private equity investor in Turkey – and Esas Holding – a venture capital firm established by the Sabanci family – are acquiring a majority stake in Korozo Ambalaj.   The new shareholders are moving to unlock the company’s growth potential and increase its competitiveness and integration in international markets. Robinhood has secured USD110 million in Series C financing from DST Global, valuing the company at USD1.3 billion. Existing investors Index Ventures, NEA and Ribbit Capital, as well as new investors Greenoaks Capital and Thrive Capital, participated in the round, bringing the company’s total funding to date to USD176 million.   Robinhood plans on deploying the capital to accelerate expansion of its products and services.   “We welcome DST Global as investors and look forward to sharing Robinhood with more people so everyone can participate in the U.S. financial markets and have the opportunity to join the money class,” says
Law firm Bond Dickinson has advised Piper, an investor in consumer brands, on its investment into Pet Food UK, the company behind the Barking Heads, Meowing Heads and AATU brands. The Bond Dickinson team, led by corporate finance partner Simon Hewes, managing associate Leon Miller and solicitor Sammy Hill, advised on all stages of the transaction.   Piper's GBP5 million investment strengthens its presence in the natural pet food sector and marks the final investment from Piper’s GBP107 million fifth fund. NorthEdge Capital has invested in environmental and industrial services specialist Future Industrial Services (FIS), backing the management buy-out from its Irish listed parent company, One51, at an equity value of GBP16 million. The international finance centre of Guernsey has launched two of its new Private Investment Funds (PIFs), four months after the new structure was developed and released to the global investment community. GMT Communications Partners, with the assistance of the Guernsey offices of Northern Trust and law firm Carey Olsen, has launched a PIF to take advantage of the structure’s flexibility, simplicity, lower costs and the speed at which it can be brought to market.   Dominic Wheatley, CEO of the island’s promotional agency Guernsey Finance, says that the unveiling of two funds in a fortnight is a very promising start
