Ergomed is acquiring Haemostatix from a group of UK-based VC investors including Albion Ventures, Catapult Ventures, Esperante, as well as Nesta and the Wellcome Trust for an initial consideration of GBP8.0 million, with a contingent consideration of GBP20.0 million.
Nottingham based Haemostatix, a spin-out of the University of Nottingham, is a developer of topical clotting agents. The technology is based on a novel class of molecule that binds directly to fibrinogen to promote haemostasis and is targeted at the global surgical bleeding market, worth more than USD2 billion.

RINA is to acquire the entire share capital of Edif Group Limited (Edif), a portfolio company of Phoenix Equity Partners (Phoenix), for GBP118.5 million (around EUR151 million).
The acquisition represents a further step towards the fulfilment of RINA’s broader growth strategy, which will increase its geographical coverage, and deliver a higher level of technical expertise for its customers. In particular, the acquisition of Edif will significantly increase RINA’s presence in the UK, alongside the US and German market, where the combination of the two groups will provide a platform for further expansion.

Malta, together with Luxembourg, is one of the first two jurisdictions in Europe to adopt the new framework and the move is likely to expand its share of the alternative investment funds (AIF) market, marking yet another step in the country’s move to becoming a leading financial centre, Jeremy Leach says.

Swedish company reconstruction firm FrontOffice Nordic AB, which raised almost EUR600,000 from crowdfunding investors on FundedByMe in February 2016, has been listed on the Nordic Growth Market (NGM) stock exchange.
This makes FrontOffice the first successfully crowdfunded company in Scandinavia, and one of the first in Europe, to be listed on a stock exchange.
Crowdfunding investors into FrontOffice – who could buy shares for a minimum investment of EUR53 – are now able to trade those shares on this regulated stock exchange, licensed by the Financial Supervisory Authority.
