NewAlpha Asset Management’s dedicated FinTech Venture Capital fund has made its first investment, a EUR2.3 million capital increase in Heoh, a technology platform for donations at payment terminals.
Heoh plans to raise EUR60 million for NGOs in the next five years while offering merchants and payments companies an innovative charitable service that complements existing solutions.

Increased confidence in the Channel Islands’ funds sector is reflected in positive year-end figures from both Guernsey and Jersey, says Ogier funds partner Simon Schilder.
The year-end figures for Guernsey funds under management and administration increased by 1.2 per cent to reach GBP2.7 billion over the fourth quarter of 2015 and GBP8.2 billion (3.7 per cent) year-on-year to reach GBP227.6 billion.
Jersey’s statistics revealed a GBP7 billion increase over the quarter – though a GBP3 billion loss year-on-year – to GBP225.8 billion in regulated funds under administration.

Fraser McCombs Capital (FMC) is launching a second automotive-focused investment fund, FMC Fund II.
FMC was founded by Billy Joe “Red” McCombs and Chase Fraser in 2012. McCombs is the founder of the Red McCombs Automotive Group, a co-founder of Clear Channel Communications, a former owner of the San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, and the Minnesota Vikings, and the namesake of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Taaleri Plc has acquired a 25 per cent minority interest of its subsidiary Taaleri Private Equity Funds Ltd at a purchase price of EUR12 million. The purchase price is based on an external valuation.
The Board of Directors of Taaleri Plc obtained a positive fairness opinion (available as attached) from Sisu Partners Oy. Following the transaction, Taaleri Plc owns 100 per cent of Taaleri Private Equity Funds Ltd.

A fund managed by Impax Asset Management is to sell its 107.7MW wind farm portfolio (the Portfolio) located in Finland, to a fund managed by Allianz Capital Partners, the Allianz investment manager for alternative investments.
The sale is in accordance with the fund’s strategy of realising assets once they are operational. Impax has grown the Portfolio by acquisition since 2013, and subsequently constructed the entire Portfolio which includes three projects in Finland, two in Lapland and the third in the North Ostrobothnia region.
