Private equity firm JZ Capital Partners Limited (JZCP) has closed a co-investment alongside an investor group led by Orangewood Partners in K2 Towers (K2), an operator and owner of wireless communication towers. JZCP invested USD22 million in K2 which was founded in 2009 and specialises in acquiring and maintaining wireless communication towers. IK Investment Partners (IK) has received a binding offer from International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (NYSE:IFF) (“IFF”), a leading global creator of flavours and fragrances for consumer products, for the sale of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics group of companies. Nordic Capital Fund VII (Nordic Capital) has expanded its holdings in the child safety market with an investment in Max-Inf, manufacturer of children’s car seats based in China.  The transaction allows Britax and Max-Inf to further develop their relationship and accelerate growth in the key Asian markets. Max-Inf is headquartered in Ningbo, China. In 2014 the company had revenues of approximately USD 73mn and over 700 employees. Salient Partners has successfully completed its acquisition of Forward Management, creating a USD27 billion diversified asset management firm and reaffirming the firm’s position as provider of liquid alternative and real asset investment strategies.   The combined firm has 250 employees across its offices in Houston, San Francisco and New York. Shoreline Capital, a private fund manager in Chinese distressed debt and special situation investments, has closed its third fund at USUSD500 million. The fund, Shoreline China Value III, was over-subscribed.  Meanwhile, Shoreline held the first close for Fund III’s overflow fund at USD115 million. Based on current indications of interest, Shoreline expects the overflow fund to also be oversubscribed within the month.  Since the firm’s inception in 2004, Shoreline has focused on illiquid credit-related opportunities arising from the inefficiencies in China’’s financial system. Such opportunities include (i) non-performing loan (“NPL”) portfolios; (ii) distressed special situations; and (iii) non-distressed special situation investments.

Maranon Capital has appointed Daniel Kirmse and Santo Barretta as Portfolio Analysts while Fiona O’Connor has joined the firm as an Executive Assistant. Kirmse was previously a Commercial Banking Representative with MB Financial Bank where he was responsible for investment underwriting and portfolio management.
