LetterOne Technology, a strategic long-term investor in international technology markets, has strengthened its advisory board with the appointment of Jeremie Berrebi and Gennady Gazin.
Gazin currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board at Studio Moderna, a multi-channel and direct-to-consumer retailer in Central and Eastern Europe. From 2007 to 2012 he was CEO of EastOne, an international investment advisory group. Prior to joining EastOne, Gazin worked in McKinsey and Company’s telecommunications practice and served as the Senior Partner responsible for the firm’s CIS practice. Lonsdale Capital Partners has acquired HVAC&R Limited (HVAC&R), a provider of heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions to the oil and gas sector, in a GBP10.25 million deal and will integrate the company into its existing investment, Oteac.
Royal Bank of Scotland are the senior debt advisors on the deal.

The German private equity market is showing signs of a slight downturn after the buoyant mood experienced since last summer. Deteriorating financing conditions and business prospects mean that investors in the SME sector are increasingly joining the ranks of the sellers.
However, private equity professionals expect conditions to improve in the second half of the year, according to the findings of the latest private equity panel survey, which is conducted three times a year by CMS Germany and FINANCE magazine. Some 40 private equity (PE) firms provide anonymous assessments of the market for the survey.

An affiliate of Fortress Investment Group is to become co-manager with Mount Kellett Capital Management of the Mount Kellett investment funds and related accounts (the funds).
Mount Kellett affiliates will continue to serve as general partner of the Funds. Additionally, affiliates of Fortress will become special limited partners of the Funds. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Barclays has appointed Steve Rickards as head of offshore funds. He will lead the creation and implementation of the bank’s offshore funds strategy and report directly to Paul Savery, managing director of personal and corporate banking in the Channel Islands.
“Steve has 30 years’ experience with Barclays in corporate banking and international finance centres,” says Savery.
For the last four years Rickards has been heading up the Guernsey Funds team providing debt solutions for private equity and working with locally based fund administrators.
