Sun European Partners has made two senior hires in Europe.  Andreas Bösenberg has joined as Managing Director of the Frankfurt office and Michael Palm as Managing Director of Sun’s new Swedish office in Stockholm, supporting the firm’s continued expansion in the region.   Bösenberg joins from VTB Capital where he spent nearly five years as Deputy Head of Private Equity and Special Situations. Prior to this, he was Co-founder and Managing Director of Brockhaus Private Equity in Frankfurt. Mercia Fund Management (MFM) has appointed Dr Nicola Broughton (pictured), a Leeds-based consultant specialising in the commercialisation of Intellectual Property, as an Investment Director and Head of Technology Transfer. Broughton will be growing a team to help support Mercia’s university partners in their areas of geographical focus – the Midlands, North and Scotland. Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC Private Limited (GIC) has adopted Omgeo ALERT, a web-based global database for the maintenance and communication of account and Standing Settlement Instructions (SSIs). The firm adopted the solution to deliver further improvements in post-trade operational efficiency.   GIC wanted to enhance its enterprise trade lifecycle platform as part of a two-stage process. Phase one involved the importing of SSIs into ALERT, with a focus on fixed income instructions, in the third quarter of 2014. Founded in 2007, Garrison Investment Group focuses on deploying capital in opportunities across corporate finance, financial assets, and real estate. Alternative investment manager Lexington Partners has renewed a three-year agreement, or "smartnership," with the Happy Hearts Fund to jointly rebuild three schools in Latin American countries.  This marks the second three-year pledge that Lexington Partners has made to Happy Hearts Fund. Lexington's initial pledge, in 2012, has resulted in the rebuilding of three schools for 1,086 children. Aviva Investors is making an investment of EUR40 million in a financing package for the Milan underground providing debt to the project alongside banks and other institutional investors.  Aviva Investors is the largest institutional investor in the financing.   This represents the first issue of an Italian Project Bond – a product created by the Italian Government to allow international investments in Italian infrastructure.   The underground line, the fifth for Milan, will connect Bignami station, North of Milan, through the city centre to the San Siro stadium.
