Keensight Capital, a European growth private equity firm, has completed the sale of FircoSoft, a provider of watch list filtering solutions for bank transactions, to Reed Elsevier.
Created in 1990 and based in Paris, FircoSoft provides software solutions which allow its clients to filter financial transactions against sanctions and watch lists in order to ensure compliance with existing regulations while meeting Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
Keensight Capital first invested in the company in May 2011 through a majority LBO transaction, alongside the management and Paris Orléans.

An investment fund that Adamas Finance Asia (ADAM) invested USD1 million in last September has exited from a credit-finance project with a gross IRR of 22 per cent.
ADAM has also received a second semi-annual dividend distribution in the amount of USD75,301.98 from its investment in GCCF.
Following an initial dividend payment in March 2014, GCCF has to date yielded an annual dividend return of 15.06 per cent for ADAM.
GCCF was launched in August 2013 by Hong Kong-based Adamas Asset Management (HK) Limited, which since February 2014 has been has been acting as ADAM's investment manager.

The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) has submitted a comment letter to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as the regulatory agency considers proposed changes to the definition of an “accredited investor” under Rule 501 of Regulation D.
The HFA is urging the SEC to reject an increase in the current requirements, originally set in 1982, to account for inflation. The definition was already significantly narrowed when the value of an investor’s primary residence was excluded under The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Uniplaces has secured GBP2.2 million in a second round of investment from venture capital firm Octopus Investments as it plans major expansion in key student cities worldwide.
After previously investing over GBP700,000 in November 2013, Octopus Investments showed continued interest in the brand as it followed on into the latest funding round.
Other investors in this round include Alex Chesterman (founder of Zoopla and LoveFiLM), Portuguese angel fund Shilling Capital Partners, and Rob McClatchey (former chairman of University Partnerships Program Ltd and managing director of Barclays Capital), who also joined the board as a non-executive director.

Gumpinger, a successful serial entrepreneur, will support founders of new businesses with his experience and contacts.

Formed by two industry veterans, James Brooksby and Chris Mehers, and supported by a creative team based in Guildford, Edge Case Games is moving to the free to play games as a service model, focusing on the core PC gamer audience.
