Bowman Power, the waste heat recovery technology business, has secured GBP3m (USD5.0m) of additional funding from existing shareholders including Octopus Investments, Fjord Capital and a number of angel investors.
The round was heavily oversubscribed.
The funding will primarily be used for the global expansion of this fast growing business. Bowman is looking to enlarge its global footprint and develop new products thanks to the capital injection. In particular, the funds will be used for additional marketing associated with an expanding worldwide distributor network for Bowman’s innovative energy recovery technologies. Bowman now has a total of six distributors globally.

Australian private equity firm, CHAMP Private Equity, has appointed John Haddock as its first Chief Executive Officer.
Haddock will retain his present position of Managing Director, and continue his active role in deal flow generation and portfolio management. As CEO he assumes the additional responsibility for the overall management of CHAMP’s investment program together with the day-to-day management of the firm.

An affiliate of private equity investment firm HIG Capital has completed the acquisition of American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC), a manufacturer of fine and specialty chemicals, in a take private transaction.

Law firm White & Case has advised UK and Ireland logistics operator DX (Group) on the pricing of its initial public offering and admission to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
The associated share placing values DX, a portfolio company of private equity firm Arle Capital Partners Limited since 2006, at around GBP200m.
The proceeds of the placing will be used to repay existing senior debt, shareholder loans and private equity investors.

AllianceBernstein has appointed Michael H Conn as managing director – strategy, operations and development, supporting the firm's fund of funds business.
He will be based in Los Angeles and report to Marc Gamsin, head of AllianceBernstein's alternative investment management group.
In this newly created role, Conn will work closely with Gamsin to develop the business strategy and new products for the group, as well as support existing and potential clients. He will also collaborate with the broader alternatives team to enhance the firm's diverse product offerings and help clients better understand the role alternatives can play in their portfolio.
The shipping sector is anticipating a recovery with two-thirds (66 per cent) of respondents to a survey by law firm Norton Rose Fulbright expecting freights to rise.
