Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners has made the third investment of BioDiscovery 4, its fourth fund dedicated to life sciences, through its participation in the series B financing round of OncoEthix.   OncoEthix is a Swiss-based oncology drug development company founded in 2009. Private equity firms obtained exit routes for their investments in 29 Indian companies during the quarter ended June 2013, up 38 per cent over the 21 exits in the same period a year ago, says data from Venture Intelligence, a research service focused on private company financials, transactions and valuations in India.   The exit volumes were also 21 per cent higher than that in the in the immediate previous quarter, which had witnessed 24 exits.   Of the divestitures during the latest quarter, 21 represented complete exits; the remainder partial ones.   Sale of shares in already listed companies
Private equity firm Metric Capital Partners (MCP) has completed its investment in Change of Scandinavia, a leading player in the Nordic lingerie and apparel segment.   Headquartered in Farum, Denmark, Change has a strong focus on comfort, value for money, in-store service levels and large product offering with over 100 custom sizes.   The company was established in 1995 by Claus Jensen, its current chief executive and lead shareholder. Madison Dearborn Partners has agreed to buy Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS), a supplier of print-based specialty packaging, from Irving Place Capital.   Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Multi Packaging Solutions is a manufacturer of high-quality printed folding cartons, labels, and inserts for customers in the healthcare, consumer, and media end markets. OncoEthix, the Swiss-based specialist in oncology drug development, has closed a series B financing raising CHF18m (USD19m). SV Life Sciences (SVLS) led the financing, joined by new investor Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners. Existing investors including Index Ventures and Endeavour Vision also participated in the round.   The proceeds will be used to progress OncoEthix’ novel BET bromodomain inhibitor, OTX015, into Phase II proof of concept studies.   OTX015 is an orally administered synthetic small molecule which targets BET bromodomain proteins 2/3/4.
