Qiming Venture Partners has promoted Nisa Leung to managing partner effective immediately.
Leung (pictured) joined Qiming as a venture partner in 2006 to head the firm’s healthcare practice. She currently sits on the board of Gan & Lee Pharmaceutical, Novast Pharmaceuticals, Crown Bioscience, Sangon Biotech, Nurotron, Goodwill Information Technology, Origene Technologies and has represented Qiming on other healthcare investments including CITIC Pharmaceuticals and Aeonmed Medical among others.
Leung joins Duane Kuang, JP Gan, Hans Tung, and Gary Rieschel as managing partners of Qiming Venture Partners.

IPO activity surged in the second quarter of 2013, as the volume of new public listings far exceeded the previous quarter, as well as the second quarter of 2012, according to IPO Watch, a quarterly survey of IPOs listed on US stock exchanges by PwC US.
There were a total of 62 IPOs in the second quarter of 2013, representing an increase of 82 per cent compared to 34 listings in the first quarter of 2013, and an increase of 88 per cent compared to 33 listings in the second quarter of 2012.

Marie-Claire Fudge has joined Mourant Ozannes as counsel and head of funds in the British Virgin Islands.
Fudge (pictured) has extensive experience in structuring, setting up and launching open and closed ended BVI investment funds and providing ongoing advice to investment funds and their managers.
She has a regulatory practice which compliments her investment funds practice and regularly advises broker dealers and other market participants on the BVI’s investment business laws.

Private equity and alternative asset manager Maven Capital Partners has invested GBP3.8m into Paisley based Lambert Contracts.
