Chimera Capital, an affiliate of Chimera Investment, an Abu Dhabi-based private investment firm managing a diversified international portfolio of listed and private investments, and Alpha Wave Global, an investment company with multiple funds across asset classes, have launched Alpha Wave Private Credit, an open-ended credit fund, with initial commitments of USD2 billion. The perpetual fund, which will be jointly managed by Chimera Capital and Alpha Wave Global aims to develop a diversified portfolio of credit investments reflecting attractive risk-reward characteristics irrespective of the path of interest rates and in the context of growth in the private market for credit solutions.

Werfen, a global developer, manufacturer and distributor of specialised diagnostic instruments, is to acquire Immucor, Inc, a US-based specialist in transfusion and transplant in vitro diagnostics, from private equity firm TPG for approximately $2 billion. The acquisition, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is being funded with a mix of cash on hand and new senior credit facilities. Moonfare, a global digital private equity platform, increased its assets under management by almost 90% in the year to end September 2022 to €2.18 billion, as individual investors flocked to the asset class amid turbulent public markets.
