Law firm Noerr has advised Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) on a further investment in Babbel. SEP led a USD 22m investment round in the Berlin-based company, which offers the well-known “Babbel” online language courses.
Babbel's existing investors Reed Elsevier Ventures, Nokia Growth Partners and VC Fonds Technologie Berlin also participated in the financing round. Noerr acted for SEP with a team led by corporate partner Felix Blobel (pictured).
Babbel, which was founded in 2007, is the leading app for language learning with 14 learning languages and up to 120,000 downloads per day. The funds from the financing round will be used for the company's further growth and product development.
