Nordic Capital to sell financial data firm Macrobond to Francisco Partners

Nordic Capital has agreed to sell Macrobond, a global provider of software and macroeconomic and financial data, to Francisco Partners, a private investment firm that specialises in partnering with technology businesses. 

Nordic Capital has agreed to sell Macrobond, a global provider of software and macroeconomic and financial data, to Francisco Partners, a private investment firm that specialises in partnering with technology businesses. 

Since its initial investment in 2018, Nordic Capital has, together with the management and founders, made significant investments in the company’s technology platform, and product expansion.
 
Macrobond was founded in 2008 in Malmö, Sweden, with the vision of becoming the global platform of choice for financial and economic research. The company’s offering combines a comprehensive and accessible database with over 300 million macro and financial time series and powerful analytics capabilities.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Arma Partners acted as exclusive financial adviser, PwC acted as tax and financial adviser and White & Case as legal adviser to Nordic Capital and Macrobond. Paul Hastings as the legal advisor to Francisco Partners.
