Oakley Capital, a pan-European, mid-market private equity investor, has closed Oakley Capital V at its hard cap of €2.85 billion, exceeding its €2.5 billion target. Fund V, which is almost double the size of its predecessor fund, attracted strong support from new and existing investors.

The fund, which hit hard cap in just over six months, securing commitments from 25 new institutional investors across North America and EMEA in the process, will focus on backing European businesses with typical enterprise values of €100 million to €500 million, across core sectors of technology, consumer and education.

The Oakley Network, which comprises entrepreneurs previously backed by the firm, is also contributing almost €200 million. The fundraise brings Oakley Capital’s total AUM to €8 billion.
