Octagon Credit Investors is set to bolster its push into private credit with the hire of Sean Sullivan, the former Head of Direct Lending Origination at Morgan Stanley, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites unnamed sources familiar with the matter as confirming that Sullivan, who spent five years at Morgan Stanley and previously held a senior role at Antares Capital, will join Octagon to spearhead its direct lending build-out.
His appointment comes as the $33bn asset manager – best known for its CLO platform – seeks to expand its footprint in the $1.7tn private credit market.
Octagon launched its direct lending strategy earlier this year and is also a participant in JPMorgan Chase’s co-lending program, partnering on credit deals originated by the bank.
