Investments solutions provider Octopus Investments has announced the appointment of Purvi Sapre as an investment manager in the group’s private equity team.

Before joining Octopus, Purvi was a manager at Barclays Leveraged Finance, a UK mid-market leveraged finance provider. The team specialises in providing debt financing to private equity transactions including public-to-privates, management buy-outs and re-finances.

Chris Allner, head of Octopus Private Equity, says: ‘We are committed to maintaining the level of growth that we have achieved to date, and recruiting people of Purvi’s calibre is a key part of that process.’

Sapre adds: ‘Octopus have done more deals than any other private equity company in their space, so joining a company with such momentum is very exciting.’

Octopus Private Equity is a division of Octopus Investments, a fund manager and private equity investor in fast-growing small and medium-sized companies. The private equity team specialises in providing between GBP2m and GBP8m in equity finance for management buyouts, buy-ins and development capital for UK companies, in transactions with an enterprise value typically of up to GBP25m.

Established in 2000, Octopus is one of the UK’s fastest growing fund management firms and one of the country’s largest venture capital trust managers in the UK. The firm has more than 10,000 investors and GBP400m under management.
