Octopus Investments-backed UltraSoC appoints CSR co-founder Graham Pink

Octopus Investments-backed UltraSoC Technologies has appointed Graham Pink to the board.

This comes a week after the appointment of Chris Gilbert as non-executive chairman.

Pink is an experienced technology entrepreneur with extensive knowledge of semiconductor IC engineering, from digital implementation, packaging and fabrication through test. Pink began his career as an engineer for Lucas Aerospace. He then spent 17 years at Cambridge Consultants where he led various projects on metering and communication products, fault tolerant computing systems and ASIC developments. In 1999 he co-founded CSR and served various roles there for the next eleven years including SVP engineering and EVP R&D.

More recently Pink is a member of the UK Electronic Skills Foundation and has been CEO of IPICSI where he continued to advise fabless chip companies on business strategy and product development.

Pink says: ‘“I am honoured to have been asked to join the board of UltraSoC at this exciting stage of its evolution. I look forward to the challenges ahead and will bring my skills and experience to help them achieve their full potential. I am really excited about this company’s prospects.”

Luke Hakes, principal at Octopus, says: “The commercial and technical expertise that Graham brings coupled with the seasoned entrepreneurial experience of the new chairman, Chris Gilbert, will put UltraSoC’s board in a strong position to lead the company in its next phase of growth. We are excited about the opportunities in the coming year.”
