Senior offshore banking lawyer Simon Felton has joined Ogier’s top tier Banking and Finance team as a partner.
Felton (pictured), who has held managing partner roles in offices in New York and London, is known for his experience in leading international teams working on complex and ground-breaking structured finance transactions.
With a background in Jersey banking and finance law spanning 20 years Felton’s focus is on advising major investment banks on a wide range of capital markets, structured finance and securitisation transactions.

Felton’s arrival comes during a period of significant strategic growth at Ogier, where the number of partners has increased by ten per cent in the last year. The firm has also opened a new London office and appointed a Director of Service Innovation in the last six months.
Felton’s recent work prior to joining Ogier has included assisting a global financial institution to establish a platform to consolidate its global issuance of structured products outside of the US, assisting an SPV to participate in a programme for the repackaging of securitisation residuals, advising a Jersey receivables trustee in relation to the disposal of a substantial portfolio of mortgage receivables and advising in relation to a significant publicly offered equity raise by a listed Jersey company.
Felton has also advised in relation to substantial private M&A activity for institutional and private equity clients.
