Elysian Capital has held a first close of its third fund, having raised 90 per cent of the fund’s target of GBP 300 million in three months, since officially launching the fund.
The final close is expected to be completed in the next couple of months from investors already well advanced in the process, according to the lower mid-market firm.
Elysian Capital’s third fund has received commitments from existing as well as new investors from Europe and the US. The Elysian team continues to invest in their own funds, having contributed GBP67 million across its three funds to date.

Well-known Irish figures including former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Guinness family head Lord Iveagh and U2 band members Adam Clayton and The Edge are among a wide-ranging line-up of advisors and investors in a new ‘Impact Ireland’ fund launched by Dublin-based venture private equity investor VentureWave Capital.
VentureWave this week confirmed the successful first close of its new fund, which aims to invest in and build global ‘technology for good’ companies from Ireland. Italian investment banking and asset management group Mediobanca is launching a new private markets fund aimed at Italian private clients, aiming to offer a diversified strategy that will seek to exploit opportunities arising from the economic and financial dislocations caused by Covid-19.
The new Mediobanca Private Markets Fund III vehicle, the third fund from the investment programme developed by Mediobanca Private Banking in collaboration with Russell Investments, marks an expansion of the Milan-headquartered banking group’s alternative investments offering for private clients in Italy.

Spanish insurance group MAPFRE has taken a significant step forward in its growing commitment to alternative investments with the launch of a private equity fund of funds that is open to co-investments from other institutions.
MAPRE AM, the group’s asset management arm, has teamed up with Abante Asesores – the financial advisory firm in which the insurer acquired a 10 per cent stake in September 2019 – and long-established private markets fund of funds group Altamar Capital Partners for the new launch.
The insurance group is committing equity totalling EUR250 million to the new MAPRE Private Equity FCR fund of funds,

Nordic lower mid-market growth and buyout group Priveq, which invests in companies within the consumer, healthcare, IT and software sectors, has closed its sixth fund on SEK 2.5 billion.
The fund’s investors include existing and new Nordic, European and North American investors, including public and private pension funds, insurance companies, charitable foundations, endowments, public institutions, family offices and fund-of-funds.
Magnus Hardmeier, executive chairman of Priveq, said the firm had its first investor meeting with regards to the new fund on March 17th, the same week authorities announced Corona restrictions in Sweden.
