Palatine hires Wilson to boost portfolio efficiencies

Palatine Private Equity has strengthened its UK team with the appointment of Gareth Wilson as Portfolio Operations Director to boost operational efficiencies across its portfolio.

Wilson is an experienced management consultant and joins the firm having worked as an independent consultant leading key strategic and cost saving projects for a number of private equity backed companies. He has also worked as a Senior Associate at McKinsey & Company and Together Group, where he provided strategic advice and guidance to its chief executive.
In his new role at Palatine, Wilson will be responsible for improving the performance of the firm’s portfolio companies.
The latest hire follows a period of significant growth at Manchester-headquartered Palatine, which has recruited six new team members since the start of 2017.
Gary Tipper, Managing Partner at Palatine Private Equity, says: “I am delighted that Gareth has joined the Palatine team to identify operational efficiencies across the portfolio. He has an excellent track record of providing strategic advice to well-known businesses, including Speedy Hire and the AA, and we are confident he will add significant value to the management teams we work with.”
Wilson adds: “It is an exciting time to be joining Palatine, which has established itself as one of the UK’s leading private equity outfits for entrepreneurial companies. The firm has a diverse portfolio ranging from healthcare to leisure and property to tech, and I will use my management knowledge and expertise to help drive top line growth.”
