Pamplona Capital has first closing of second private equity fund

Pamplona Capital Management has held the first closing of its second private equity fund, Pamplona Capital Partners II, having attracted EUR1.3bn in capital commitments.

Pamplona Capital Management has held the first closing of its second private equity fund, Pamplona Capital Partners II, having attracted EUR1.3bn in capital commitments. The fund will continue Pamplona’s strategy of investing in leveraged buyout opportunities in Europe with an emphasis on emerging growth opportunities.

‘We have delivered outstanding returns with our first private equity fund, and our second fund will continue to stick to its value-oriented strategy,’ says Alex Knaster, chairman and chief executive of Pamplona Capital Management.

‘Together with our products in funds of funds and hedge funds, this fund offers a broader range of exciting investment opportunities to Pamplona’s investors, including controlling stakes in private and public European companies.’

Established at the end of 2004, London-based Pamplona Capital Management manages more than USD3bn in private equity funds, hedge funds, and funds of hedge funds. Pamplona’s private equity business is run by a team of five partners with 10 professionals.
