Pantheon promotes private equity veteran Brian Buenneke to partner

Private equity fund of funds manager Pantheon Ventures has announced the promotion of Brian J. Buenneke from principal to partner.

Private equity fund of funds manager Pantheon Ventures has announced the promotion of Brian J. Buenneke from principal to partner.

Buenneke (pictured), who is based in the firm’s San Francisco office, is a member of Pantheon’s US primary investment team, evaluating and monitoring investment opportunities in North America, and a member of the firm’s US regional investment committee.

Buenneke joined Pantheon in 2004, having previously had seven years’ experience in private equity with HarbourVest Partners, Duke Street Capital and Paul Capital Partners.

Pantheon has been active in private equity since 1982 as a private equity fund of funds and secondaries managers with USD23bn under management at the end of September and a team of 149 including 68 investment professionals at offices in London, San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong.

It develops and implements private equity investment strategies for over 300 global institutional investors. It also manages regional funds-of-funds in the US, Europe and Asia, customised separate account programmes and global secondary funds.

Pantheon acts as manager to Pantheon International Participations, the world’s first quoted private equity fund-of-funds, launched in 1987 and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Pantheon is part of Russell Investments.
