Global law Firm Paul Hastings has appointed Dr Nikolaos Paschos as a Partner and Chair of the German M&A practice in its Frankfurt office, as part of the firm’s expansion of its cross-border M&A and private equity capabilities.
The hire follows those of last year, including Frederik Muehl, a Partner specialising in private equity and infrastructure M&A, Dr Melchior Raiser, a Partner specialising in global finance, and Gerd Hegele, a Partner specialising in private equity.
Paschos was previously a Partner in Latham & Watkins’ Düsseldorf office, where he advised on various matters concerning private equity as well as advising public companies and their boards with regards to shareholder litigation, activism defence and issues around corporate governance and other corporate matters.
Paschos’ previous work includes advising Bayer on the carve-out and IPO of its material science business, Covestro; CPPIB, on its investment in the public takeover offer and the delisting offer for Axel Springer by global investment firm KKR & Co; and Siemens on the IPO of its healthcare equipment business, Siemens Healthineers.
