Paul Weiss adds IP and Technology Transactions partner

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP has announced that John Patten, a specialist in intellectual property and technology transactions, will be joining the firm in the Corporate Department, resident in London.
Patten will advise clients on the technology, IP and data components of a variety of complex commercial and corporate transactions, as well as on data protection compliance in relation to European data privacy laws
Patten’s previous representations include advising EQT on the recommended cash offer of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC; WHP Global on its acquisition of a majority interest in G-Star RAW; BC Partners and Dümmen Orange on the sale of Quick Plug; Bain Capital on its acquisition of ITP Aero from Rolls-Royce; Warburg Pincus on the acquisition of Minesoft; Patient Square Capital on the IP arrangements relating to its investment in Apollo Therapeutics, a portfolio-based biopharmaceutical company; Thoma Bravo and its portfolio company J.D. Power on its investment in Autovista Group; Montagu Private Equity on the acquisition of the Education Software Solutions business of Capita plc and on the agreement to invest in ParentPay; and Fox Corporation on the joint venture with Gordon Ramsay to jointly form new production entity Studio Ramsay Global.
