Paul Weiss’s global private credit co-chair, Anastasia Peterson, has stepped down less than a year after taking on the role, according to a report by Financial News. Peterson has left the firm to establish a strategic private capital and advisory business focused on the Middle East.
Peterson was appointed co-chair of Paul Weiss’s private credit group in March last year and also served as co-chair of the firm’s global financial services group, which spans finance, M&A, and funds. Based primarily in New York with time spent in London, her practice advised alternative asset managers on complex transactions across the US, Europe, and Asia.
During her time at Paul Weiss, Peterson worked on more than $100bn of transactions, including advising Apollo Global Management on its acquisition of Credit Suisse’s securitised products group in 2023 and structuring Apollo’s $25bn private credit partnership with Citibank in 2024. She also led the firm’s efforts to build partnerships between banks and private lenders.
Peterson will now advise institutional investors and government-linked funds on private credit and structured finance opportunities in the Middle East.
