Permira has appointed Simon Segars, former CEO of Arm, as a senior adviser to its technology team.
Segars joins Permira after spending more than 30 years at Arm, one of the world’s leading semiconductor intellectual property licensing companies, most recently as CEO from 2013 to 2022.
Having joined Arm in 1991 as one of its first employees, Segars helped drive technical and business innovations throughout his tenure that transformed the company into the leading architect of one of the world’s most pervasive computer technologies.
At Permira, Segars will use his network, expertise and decades of technology industry experience to support the team with investment activity and value creation in the portfolio, as well as serving as a trusted adviser to the management teams of the market-leading and disruptive technology companies the Permira funds invest in.
