Global private equity firm Permira has appointed a dedicated team to identify investment opportunities across the climate transition value chain, which will be led by Partner Kush Patel in New York and another London-based Partner who is set to join the business in 2024.
The team will have a global, dual focus on climate transition assets, including projects and platforms, as well as and enablers, including associated products, services and technology.
Patel joined Permira in 2023 as a Partner from Blackstone, where he played a senior role in its global energy transition strategy, focusing on investments in the power/renewables, energy technology, energy services, and energy efficiency sectors. Prior to this, Patel was a public markets energy investor at King Street Capital and Kingsland Capital Management.
Patel will be joined later in 2024 by another Partner and Co-Head with a long-term track record of investing in energy and energy transition assets in Europe.
