Phoenix exits Global Freight Solutions

Phoenix Equity Partners (Phoenix), a growth-focused private equity firm, has sold Global Freight Solutions (GFS), an enterprise carrier management (ECM) company, to e-commerce fulfilment specialist International Logistics Group (ILG), part of the Yusen Logistics/NYK group of companies.

Since investing, Phoenix has worked alongside GFS’s CEO Neil Cotty and the management team to develop its software solutions. According to a press release, Phoenix has also helped to transform the company’s sales and marketing approach, resulting in doubled revenue and profitability during the firm’s investment period.

GFS now offers single access to over 1,000 shipping lanes across more than 220 countries, using technology that automates multi-carrier shipping.

In a press statement, GFS said the acquisition by ILG will allow the company to accelerate the development of its multi-carrier ECM platform and leverage the capabilities and infrastructure of the wider Yusen Logistics group to provide B2B and B2C customers with global end-to-end support across the entire supply chain.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. GFS was advised by Rothschild & Co, Travers Smith, and Deloitte.
