Global asset manager PineBridge Investments is opening a new office in Stockholm, and has appointed Viggo Johansen as head of Nordics.
The new Stockholm office adds to PineBridge’s presence in Europe, alongside its offices in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland. The firm provides private equity and private capital opportunities through commingled funds and separately managed accounts.
Johansen will be responsible for PineBridge’s sales and distribution strategy in the region, with a focus on expanding the firm’s share of the institutional investment market. He will play a key role in establishing relationships with clients and strategic partners across the Nordics including Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
Johansen joins Pinebridge from Natixis Investment Managers, where he was country head of the Nordics. Prior to this, he worked at Schroders Investment Management.
“We have been working with institutions in the Nordic region for many years and look forward to further building on existing relationships, as well as developing new partnerships with some of the world’s leading investors, said Schuster.
“The Nordic region has experienced significant growth across all markets and has specific needs and requirements that can best be addressed by an on-the-ground presence and extensive knowledge of the local markets,” he added.
