Denver-based private equity firm Platte River Ventures has announced the final closing of its second private equity fund, Platte River Ventures II, with total commitments from investors of USD235m, exceeding its fundraising target of USD200m.

Founded in 2005, Platte River Ventures is a private equity investment firm that focuses on small and middle market operating companies. With the closing of its second fund, the firm manages in excess of USD300m of committed equity capital.

Platte River Ventures’ strategy is to invest behind strong management teams in industries where the firm’s principals have significant operating and investing experience, including aerospace, industrial services, energy services, metals, chemicals and agriculture.

The firm seeks investment opportunities where its principals can add meaningful value to its management partners in creating larger enterprises through internal growth and complementary acquisitions.
