Preqin adds to Board of Directors

Preqin, a specialist in alternative assets data, tools and insights, has appointed Kumsal Bayazit — CEO of world leading science and health information and analytics provider Elsevier — to the company’s Board of Directors.

Bayazit joined Elsevier as CEO in 2019 from its parent company RELX, an R&D-driven FTSE 20 company. She has played an active role in Elsevier’s partnerships to support a sustainable and equitable future and is a lifelong champion of diversity and equality in science, health and the workplace.

Since 2004, Bayazit has held multiple management positions, including Chief Strategy Officer at RELX, and chairs RELX’s Technology Forum where she is responsible for technology, risk management and cyber security strategy across the Group.

Bayazit joins Preqin’s Board of Directors at a time when the company is rapidly growing its solutions, services, and headcount. Preqin has recently launched a suite of ESG data solutions to increase transparency and comparability in the private markets and a managed data service to support limited partners with full-service portfolio reporting. More than 110k global alternative assets professionals rely on Preqin for information on 35k private market firms, 65k funds and 18k institutional investors.

Mark O’Hare, Founder and CEO of Preqin, says: “We are honoured to have Kumsal join our Board of Directors. Her strong track record of growing data and technology-focussed global businesses through research and innovation will be instrumental in ensuring that Preqin remains at the forefront of the dynamic alternatives industry — while also positively impacting our people and the communities we live in.”

Bayazit says: “I am delighted to join Preqin’s Board of Directors as the company expands its data and analytics offerings for the alternatives industry and supports ESG to factor into investment strategies.”

Current Preqin Board members include Chairman Sir Anthony Habgood, Deputy Chairman of RG Carter Holdings, visiting fellow of Oxford University and previously Chairman of the Court of Directors of the Bank of England; Lindy O’Hare, who represents the O’Hare family’s interests; Bradley Fried, Chair of the Court of Directors of the Bank of England; and George Siguler, Founding Partner of Siguler Guff, a global private equity investment firm.
