Preqin, the alternative asset industry data and intelligence specialist, has appointed David Brierwood as a non-executive director.
He joined the board on 12 August 2014.
Brierwood holds a wealth of experience in investment data analytics and solutions, most recently in his role as chief operating officer of MSCI, which he held from 2006 to February 2014.
Prior to his role at MSCI, Brierwood worked for Morgan Stanley for 20 years and held a variety of senior positions, including global risk manager of the Morgan Stanley equity division and chief operating officer of Morgan Stanley’s institutional and retail securities group.
Mark O’Hare, Preqin’s chief executive, says: “We are thrilled that David Brierwood has joined Preqin’s board as non-executive director. David brings a unique blend of skills and experience to Preqin, with his unrivalled knowledge and deep domain experience in the broad application of financial technology globally. Preqin is committed to continuing to serve investors, advisers and fund managers in the alternative asset industry, and David’s insights and experience will be an enormously valuable asset to the company as we continue to grow in this rapidly evolving industry.”
Brierwood says: “I am very excited to be joining Preqin’s board. The rapid expansion of the alternative asset industry over recent years has led to ever growing demand for data and analytics. While in the past, the industry suffered from poor information, Preqin fills that void by providing insightful, actionable and valuable intelligence to industry professionals and by playing a key role in the investment process. I look forward to working with Mark and the board, and contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the business.”
