Quantum Capital Fund launches USD200m fund in the US

Quantum Capital Fund (QCF), a multi-staged venture capital firm, has officially launched a USD200 million fund in the US.

Founded in South Africa in 2004 by Julian Pencilliah, QCF provides direct investments and business expertise to organisations operating across the information technology, online media and Internet-related sectors.

QCF’s first US technology venture is an initial USD30 million investment in The Jetstream, a new social media network targeted to a wide variety of people who are on a journey to self-discovery. Its US operation is led by Silicon Valley technology pioneer, Arnold Magcale, and is headquartered in Santa Clara.

"Establishing presence in the US is a natural extension for Quantum Capital Fund, having already created an impressive international investment and business track record," says Arnold Magcale, CTO. "Combining my broad experience in technology and know-how in the way US businesses operate with Julian’s global experience will offer a holistic approach to investing in the US.”

"Quantum Capital Fund is one of the first companies from South Africa to invest in such a project and establish a venture capital presence in the US," says Julian Pencilliah. "We are excited to bring The Jetstream project to the US and extend our investment reach."

Quantum Capital Fund has made numerous investments across the globe, including Skye Media Productions, a digital production company that provides video production, editing, animation and visual effects, in addition to music, and Script Seven, a technology company that develops software for applications in e-commerce, content management and audio-visual, among others.
