Rcapital sells Trac Precision Solutions

Private investment firm Rcapital has successfully sold Trac Precision Solutions Ltd (TRAC), a Crewe-based company specialising in the design and manufacture of precision-engineered engine parts for the defence and aerospace industries, to PTC Industries, an engineering firm based in India.

This sale follows a highly successful turnaround for TRAC, which returned to profitability and growth under Rcapital’s ownership.

Rcapital acquired TRAC in 2022 from its previous US corporate and private equity owners after a period of underperformance, restructuring it as an independent entity. The firm worked closely with TRAC’s management team, led by Managing Director Liam Bevington, to overhaul the company’s operations and establish a new corporate identity to emphasise its independence.

Rcapital also played a key role in driving innovation at TRAC by facilitating major machinery upgrades. Over the past two years, TRAC has maintained strong relationships with its blue-chip client base and secured significant new orders, enabling it to achieve sustainable revenue growth and profitability.

Ashley Reek, Partner at Rcapital, commented: “This has been a fantastic success story for both Trac and Rcapital. It is also a prime example of our growing track record in successful corporate carve-outs. We saw the potential in Trac – not just in untangling the complexities of separating it from its previous owner, but in its long-term future.

“Central to this success was recognising Liam Bevington’s leadership potential within the senior team. His vision and drive to grow the business stood out, and we supported him with expert operators to navigate the challenges and deliver transformation. Today, Trac is thriving, with a clear path ahead for sustained growth.”

Rcapital has a strong history of investments in the aerospace, defense, and precision engineering sectors, with previous investments in companies like FGP, Bromford Precision Solutions, Nasmyth Group, and Surface Technology International.

Rcapital was advised by Browne Jacobson LLP (Legal) and Kroll (Corporate Finance).
