Record Currency Management, a $102.2bn alternative asset manager, has appointed Andreas Koester as CEO of EM & Frontier Investments. In his new role, Koester will also lead the firm’s $1bn Record Emerging Market Sustainable Finance Fund (EMSF).
According to an LSE announcement, the EMSF is classified as an Article 8 fund and aims to “support the development of local currency markets in low and middle-income economies together with improved access to long-term local currency lending”.
Prior to joining RCM, Koester was CIO at Frankfurt-based asset manager Union Investment, where he was responsible for managing the portfolio management team and setting strategic and tactical asset allocation for discretionary client portfolios of €400bn across currency and other asset classes.
Koester previously held senior roles at asset management firms including Schroders, UBS and UBS Wealth Management.
