Red Arts Capital (Red Arts), a private investment firm specialising in supply chain-related and logistics businesses, has appointed Sherina Maye Edwards as a Red Arts CEO-in-Residence.
Edwards will spearhead the firm’s platform investment strategy in the utility services sector, where Red Arts has developed a longstanding investment thesis. Edwards will seek to partner with firms and management teams supporting the expansion of the national electrical grid and modernising ageing US infrastructure.
Edwards brings extensive industry experience to the role. She is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of INTREN, a subsidiary of MasTec, a $14bn Fortune 500 utility infrastructure company. Edwards is also the former Chief Strategy Officer of MasTec where she led the evolution of the power delivery segment.
Before her tenure at INTREN, Edwards worked as an energy and utilities regulatory Partner at Quarles & Brady and served a five-year term on the Illinois Commerce Commission. She was appointed in 2016 by President Barack Obama and US Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx as Co-Chair of the US Department of Transportation’s Voluntary Information-Sharing System Working Group, where she provided recommendations to the Secretary on the protection of sensitive and proprietary information. Edwards is currently a board member of Nexus Water Group, Midland States Bank, Northwestern Energy, and is on the Board of Trustees of Spelman College.
Edwards earned her JD from Howard University School of Law and is a cum laude graduate of Spelman College where she received her BA in Psychology.
