Rede Partners, an independent advisory firm to private markets managers, has appointed Riccardo Villa as Head of Strategic Capital Advisory, a newly created role in which he will support clients to build their franchises by accessing capital at both the portfolio and corporate level.
Villa’s new role will also involve enhancing Rede’s existing capabilities in delivering GP-led secondary transactions and fund financing to incorporate a full spectrum of minority equity, M&A and alternative liquidity solutions. He will also support the firm’s role as a business development partner to its clients with a focus on in-organic expansion opportunities.
Prior to joining Rede, Villa was a Managing Director at Lazard in London, where he was responsible for financial sponsors advisory. He previously advised alternative asset managers, institutional investors and portfolio companies in relation to M&A, equity and debt capital markets, as well as secondary market transactions across geographies and sectors. According to a press release, since 2020, he advised on over 30 large-cap and mid-market transactions which collectively represent around $40bn in value.
Rede Partners was founded in 2011 and has raised over €120bn across primary fundraising and GP-led transactions.
