RJD Partners, a UK mid-market private equity firm, has hired James Smallridge as an investment manager and Jill Williams as investment executive.

Smallridge was previously with KPMG, where over the past eight years he transacted a wide range of deals in the consumer and waste management sectors. Williams joins from PricewaterhouseCoopers corporate finance, where she completed a number of deals as a buy-side adviser to private equity in sectors including leisure and specialist distribution.

‘The recruitment of James and Jill follows the successful final close of our second private equity fund in July and increases the investment team at RJD Partners to eight,’ says chief executive David MacLellan.

‘We are seeing strong deal flow in each of our core sectors of business and financial services, IT services and leisure, and the arrival of James and Jill will enable us to build on our reputation in these areas.’

RJD is currently investing capital from two third-party funds with capital raised from financial institutions and high net worth investors. The firm typically invests between GBP5m and GBP25m in UK service and leisure sector with a value of GBP10m to GBP75m.
